Kiwi Cuddles ("Kiwi Cuddles", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information through kiwicuddles.co.nz (the "Site"), in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand).
1. Information we collect
From Parents:
- Name, email address, and phone number (when submitting an enquiry to a Centre)
- Any details you choose to include in your enquiry message
- Basic usage data (pages viewed, searches made, general location/region) via standard web analytics
From Centres:
- Business contact details (name, email, phone, address, suburb, region)
- Account holder name and login email
- Business information submitted for your listing (description, hours, fees, photos, website, licensing details)
- Payment and billing information — processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card details ourselves.
From the Ministry of Education:
- We import publicly available licensed Early Childhood Service data (name, address, licence type, contact details, licensed capacity) from the Ministry of Education's Early Childhood Services Directory to populate initial Centre listings.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Operate and improve the Site and its directory/search features
- Forward Parent enquiries to the relevant Centre
- Create and manage Centre accounts, listings, and subscriptions
- Process subscription payments via Stripe
- Send transactional emails (enquiry notifications, listing approval/rejection, billing receipts, account-related communications)
- Respond to support requests sent to hello@kiwicuddles.co.nz
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
3. Who we share information with
- Centres — when you submit a Parent enquiry, your name, contact details, and message are shared with the relevant Centre so they can respond to you.
- Stripe — for processing Centre subscription payments. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
- Resend / email delivery providers — to send transactional emails on our behalf.
- Service providers — such as our hosting provider (Railway), strictly to operate the Site.
- Legal or regulatory bodies — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Kiwi Cuddles, our users, or the public.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Data storage and security
Information is stored on secure third-party infrastructure (including our hosting provider and payment processor). We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
5. How long we keep information
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Site's services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Centre listings and account data are retained for as long as the listing remains active, plus a reasonable period afterward.
6. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal or legitimate business retention requirements

7. Cookies and analytics

The Site is intended for use by Parents and Centre operators, who are adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
